As most of you know by now, Howard K. Stern, Dr. Sandeep Kapoor and Dr. Khristine Eroshevich face a total of 23 felonies. These felonies include illegally funneling sedatives and opiates to Anna Nicole Smith, former actress, reality TV show personality and Playboy bunny.

In previous testimonies we learn that –

From Adelaide Now: ANNA Nicole Smith’s boyfriend and lawyer Howard K Stern was seen by a bodyguard injecting her with a sedative before her death, a court has heard.

Maurice Brighthaupt, aka Big Mo, said he had seen Stern inject Smith with medications four or five times in Florida and the Bahamas, and also watched the celebrity model’s psychiatrist, Dr Khristine Eroshevich, inject her once but did not specify the drug. He said he also saw Smith inject herself twice.

That would possibly be why she had the massive infection on her bottom, from all the shots as mentioned in her autopsy. The infection itself, I believe, had a large part to play in her fevers and pain. Anyone with any compassion should have noticed those marks and got her the medical help she needed. I don’t care if she went kicking and screaming!

The players in this drama will next meet with Judge Wesley for a hearing on April 23. Howard K. Stern still maintains his innocence and is looking forward to the trial so he can prove it. We will see Howard.

After that August 4, 2010 marks the beginning of a long drawn-out battle against all parties. It should get ugly, as most already have guessed.

Documents: Anna Nicole Smith’s doctors were warned

LOS ANGELES — A Los Angeles pharmacist told Anna Nicole Smith’s internist that the drugs the internist prescribed to the model after her son died were “pharmaceutical suicide,” according to unsealed documents written by state officials.

Smith’s doctors were warned about prescription drugs by three pharmacists, according to unsealed affidavits obtained Monday by the Los Angeles Times.

The pharmacist refused to fill the prescriptions and later recalled thinking, “They are going to kill her with this.”

I guess I just figured it was easy sailing for them to do what they did, but apparently they actually had to work at it. That amazes me. I have been meaning to write an article on the importance of this trial on the current state of affairs within the medical profession as far as prescription drugs go.

I suppose this is the time to dive into that deep water. Here goes…

For anyone who has been following what has been happening with this trial they know that it will be long and drawn out. Now, more than ever, it is important that every aspect of prescribing drugs and it’s implications be scrutinized. Many new laws will come out of this trial. I have surmised that this trial will be the “Roe vs Wade” of this decade. It will have just as much impact on how things are done — that is my opinion.

One upgraded process will be prescription medication tracking systems. This will, undoubtedly, create new jobs in the near future. There will need to be more checks and balances put into place and much more data to enter into the systems. Red tape, red tape.

Controlled Substance Utilization Review and Evaluation System (CURES) allows healthcare professionals and law enforcement officials to make instant checks through an Internet-based system of more than 100 million entries for controlled substances. This system will be revamped, made into a national database I am sure.

The use of pseudonyms in procuring prescriptions has been, and will probably continue to be, a tricky element in solving this dilemma. It is illegal to prescribe drugs in the name of anyone but the intended user. Physicians found using pseudonyms have lost their medical licenses and faced criminal charges. Previously doctors and investigators were unable to track or cross reference pseudonyms/aliases used to obtain controlled medications. This is where (CURES) comes in. This is yet another piece of the puzzle that needs to be solved.

The main reason for my belief that this trial is a landmark trial is the onslaught of new cases on this case’s heels. This trial will set precedent to how other trials will proceed. We now have the Michael Jackson case, which is very similar (some will argue this) and then Brittany Murphy (which seems to have been taken off the “he done it” list.) Heath Ledger died of prescription drug overdose in 2008 also. Celebrity addictions are not new, they have been a part of the Hollywood scene for ages.

Perhaps the next “in thing” for Hollywood, or for the world for that matter, should be a “greening movement – i.e., non-addictive”. Maybe there should be some sort of incentive for the stars to stay “clean”. Make the benefits great for those who can “walk the walk” so to speak. You can’t get a leading role if you are caught “using” and if you are found to be “using” then you go to the end of the line. Don’t allow the star’s “creative when polluted” reputation cloud your judgment. No means No!

These are crazy thoughts. They naturally would have to include less pressure on our beloved stars to “perform on demand.” The fact that, we, as admirers as well as their “owners – i.e., their agents, etc.” who demand way too much of them. The world needs to take a chill pill and just relax a bit. This hurry scurry life we live is taking it’s tole on everyone. It is easy to understand why stars feel the need for a “pick me up” or a “help – I can’t sleep” pill from time to time. We all need to make some adjustments to keep this sort of thing happening on a regular basis.

I love the music in this. It starts with J. Howard Marshall II, Anna’s 2nd husband. Then moves into Larry with most pics with Howard actually in the background. I didn’t catch that at first. I think Larry was more a part of Anna’s life then I had previously believed.

In the pictures of Howard & Anna, at least in this one video, I don’t get the overwhelming sense of love. It just seems like a friendly relationship. The mock wedding in The Bahamas, Anna obviously was “not all there.” It was just for show and nothing more. She looked like she was made to do it, not into it at all. Like a show, which she was famous for, but in this particular role she was NOT convincing.

I stand corrected, in one area — the one small snippet at 1:47 in the video, with Daniel, it was totally and undeniably believable. Her love for him shined through like a flicker of flame on a prism. It permeated and enveloped everyone in it’s path.

Watch the video and see if you get the same impression. This is after all, simply my impression, not anything more.

All of the accused renewed their previous “not guilty” pleas on a total of 23 charges. The stakes are high on this case and it won’t be a quick one. This trial will drag on for a bit so that the judge can hear both sides of the story and be able to judge guilt or innocence accordingly. I wish all parties involved the best of luck, this one will probably get a little murky.

It should be an interesting movie, jammed packed with all kinds of twists and turns. Anna was not your ordinary gal, she had spunk & flair. She had her ups and downs and shared them with all who wished to take a peek into her life.

He had refused treatment and spent 3 weeks in a hospice before he passed away. His cancer was diagnosed too late, as he was in the last stages by then.

It was no secret that Donald Hogan thought Howard K. Stern was responsible for his daughters death.

In an e-online article he states: “I was asked awhile back, ‘Do you hate Howard Stern?’ ” Hogan says. “I don’t hate him—but I dislike him more than anyone I have ever disliked, and I have my own personal views and opinions on things about him that I’m not going to say.

“But I blame him totally for her death…Nobody put a gun to her head, but somebody sure brought a lot of drugs home and, instead of bringing drugs to someone, even if she had a fit about it, I’d tell her to tell someone else to get it for you.”

Dr. Kapoor is asking the court that his ability to practice medicine not be suspended while the outcome of this court battle is being settled. He states this action would adversely affect his current patients, some of which are dying of cancer. Kapoor’s attorneys are petitioning the court requesting that the judge throw out the Medical Board of California’s request. His lawyers argue that this “prohibition of practice” is a violation of due process provided by the U.S. Constitution.

The doctors and Howard K. Stern are set for arraignment Friday, December 11th. A judge has found probable cause for them to stand trial after a three-week preliminary hearing.

Look’s like Anna may have a special, belated, Christmas present coming. She may be able to see the masks come off these folks who dared to say they were her “family” & friends.

Dear Anna,

If you had been truly loved in your lifetime by other than money-grubbing scoundrels, you would be here celebrating your 42nd year on earth. You would be sporting your infectious smile in every opportunity you got. You would have been able to watch Dannielynn grow up. That picture could have been real!

You would have had a wonderful week, spent Thanksgiving with your family on the 26th and then on the 28th had a most memorable birthday celebration with your loving daughter. It is most sad that you were taken so soon, as no child should grow up without their mother.

I am speaking for millions of your sorrowful followers. I take responsibility for speaking for these folks, who did love you, your adoring fans.

I remember you from TV and newspapers only. I never saw your TV show when it was aired, I never saw your movies when they came out, but I do remember you. You were a household name for many years, a true sex goddess.

Many folks followed your entire career, wishing you well throughout your journey. They felt your pain and shared in your triumphs. Those folks are your true “earthly family.” If you were still alive today I would like to think that you would have mended your fences with your biological family. Family 1st is ever so important.

I wish you had found a man that could tell you “No.” I wish that you would have found a way to get past Daniel’s death, his untimely, tragic death. I wish that you had never put your trust in Howard K. Stern. I wish that you had been a little less vain and chose a father that would have been a role model and not just “a model.” Larry is a good father, as long as the opportunities are still readily available. I just hope that they never stop for Dannielynn’s sake.

Anna – my strongest wish for you is that the true story comes out on your tragic ending and that your name lives on in infamy with a bright shining light and not the dull, cloudy smudges there are now.

For you Anna – I wish you well on the other side. You will be an asset and we should not be selfish over here. We had our turn with you and it didn’t turn out good, at least not for you. Here’s to your next try.

Howard is finally being seen for what many suspect he is. This tape was released by The Los Angeles Superior Court. Howard Stern is filming Anna as a friend’s daughter, Riley Shelly – a nine year old, paints Anna’s face with clown makeup. Anna is pregnant in this tape but is so out of it that she is unaware of the fact. She is so messed up that she mistakes a doll for her baby.

Riley tells Howard that Anna has “brain trouble” — Howard is a very disturbed individual to film something like this in the first place, but to involve a young girl in his ploy is quite reprehensible. Howard’s defense is that Anna staged this video, she is acting – as if! This is a damaging piece of evidence in his criminal trial.

Big Moe, Anna’s former bodyguard, tells the court that he saw Howard K. Stern load a syringe with crushed up valium but he didn’t actually see Howard inject Anna. Howard has not been able to move on since Anna’s death and now lives with his parents. In the video below it is stated that the Hard Rock Cafe called the doctor, however, Howard canceled it because he didn’t want the publicity.

The whole premise of the accused defense is that Anna had a lot of health issues that were addressed by her doctors and everyone around her who even attempted to delve deeper into her ever increasing “drug use” was informed that all the drugs were prescription drugs, therefore, it was Okay! All of her friends, doctors, boyfriends easily gave into her request for more and more because they trusted the judgment of her doctors. Therefore, no one is guilty of anything other than trying to help her. All I can say is please don’t “help” me if I beg.

I must be weird because I grew up with the understanding that if someone busted their “chops” trying to get you to quit something that wasn’t good for you it was an act of kindness. They willingly took your “guff and abuse” because it was the right thing to do. It was their duty if they cared at all for you. It was when they gave into your every whim that showed a total lack of caring and love.

I teach my grandkids that if I take the time to punish and scold them that I am showing them “I care.” It takes a lot of energy to do this and if I didn’t care I wouldn’t bother. It is much easier to just ignore it and hope that it goes away. Maybe I have it wrong and Howard has it right. Who am I to say?

Prosecutors said Anna was prescribed huge amounts of pills, from even when she was pregnant. They equated that to giving a loaded gun to someone that is suicidal and saying “Be careful, don’t pull the trigger!”

Larry Birkhead speaks about his life with Anna prior to their separation and tells us how Dannileynn is doing. They show some really good current photos of the little darling. She is looking more and more like Anna as she gets older.
