Anna Was a Dog Lover

As many of you remember Anna carried around her pet dog wherever she went, just like Sharon Osbourne and Paris Hilton. She was seen at the 2004 American Music Awards with her Maltese “Marilyn” – gee wonder where she got that name from?

- Sugar Pie – a black toy poodle.
- Marilyn – a Maltese (shown in the pic) Puppy – a black and white Shih-Tzu and
- Frankenstein – a Shih-Tzu
– Sugar Pie was old and going blind so she is staying with a close family friend. Larry thought it best that she not be around a newborn as she was getting grouchy in her old age.
Sugar Pie was seen on !E on a regular basis and “The Anna Nicole Show”. Viewers learned that Sugar Pie had learned a very bad habit of “hunching” inanimate objects after seeing her owner “in action”. Anna even hired a dog psychic to try to solve the problem, but to no avail!
Howard K. Stern, Anna’s boyfriend and former attorney, is now caring for Marilyn, Puppy and Frankenstein in his CA home. He says they have given him solace and strength to continue on without Anna. He claims they have seen him through the rough patches. I have read that Larry awarded the dogs to Howard so they would not be broken up. Larry has since bought Dannielynn a Yorkie.
Anna also was an activist for the prevention of cruelty to animals and appeared in this campaign which alleges “deplorable” conditions in Iams’ contract laboratory:

Anna’s protesting pooches are refusing dog food from Iams in a new advertisement for PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.
“Marilyn, Sugar Pie and Puppy are boycotting Iams until it stops testing on animals in labs,” the poster reads beneath a picture of Anna Nicole Smith, a former Playboy model, and her three dogs (before Frankenstein came onto the scene).
As expected, Iams, which sells pet food and pet care products, disputed the allegations.
